Roscommon U20s find out their All-Ireland semi-final opponents
Roscommon's U20 Connacht winning side will face Kerry in the All-Ireland semi-final after the Kingdom succeeded in beating Cork in yesterday evening's Munster decider at Austin Stack Park, Tralee..
Kerry achieved a 3-14 to 0-20 success against the Rebels to secure a fifth straight provincial title at the level. They last appeared in the All-Ireland U20 final in 2024 when they were beaten by Tyrone, 1-20 to 1-14.
Roscommon's last appearance in the All-Ireland decider was in 2021 when they came unstuck against Offaly on a 1-14 to 1-11 scoreline.
Cian Smith's team sealed a place in this year's semi-finals with a remarkable 5-16 to 2-22 (after extra-time) win against Mayo in the Connacht final.
The win avenged last year's loss to the same opponents and added a 12th provincial title to the county's roll of honour at this age grade. The Rossies' has won two All-Ireland titles at the level, in 1966 and 1978, while Kerry has amassed a total of ten All-Ireland titles, the last of which came in 2008.
Meanwhile, the GAA has confirmed that Tyrone official Seán Hurson will referee Roscommon's upcoming Connacht Senior Football Championship final against Galway on Sunday, May 10 (King & Moffatt Dr Hyde Park, 4.15pm). Hurson was the man with the whistle when Galway comfortably overcame Roscommon at the semi-final stage last year.
