Two drivers hospitalised after crash on M6 in South Roscommon
The M6 motorway is closed this morning (Friday) between Athlone and Ballinasloe following a serious collision late last night which resulted in two drivers being hospitalised.
Gardai and emergency services responded to the two-car collision on the M6 at Dooghan, Roscommon, shortly after 12:30am.
A Garda spokesperson said the drivers of both cars, a male and a female both in their 20s, were taken to Tullamore hospital, and that "the man is understood to be seriously injured".
The scene of the collision is being preserved for examination and diversions are in place, with the M6 currently closed between Junction 13 (Monksland) and Junction 14 (Ballinasloe).
