Westmeath supporters are expected to travel to Salthill in large numbers on Sunday for the county's clash with Galway in Round 2A of the All-Ireland series

Limited tickets available for Westmeath's clash with Galway

Tickets for the Westmeath senior footballers All-Ireland series Round 2A game against Galway in Pearse Stadium Salthill on Sunday are close to selling out.

Supporters are being advised to purchase their match tickets with the Ticketmaster website showing limited availability this morning (Tuesday).

A sold-out venue is expected in Salthill on Sunday afternoon as Westmeath look to secure a place in the quarter-final of the All-Ireland senior football championship for the first time since 2006.

Interestingly, the Lake County advanced to the last eight of the All-Ireland senior football championship in 2006 courtesy of a one-point win over their hosts, and at the same venue as Sunday's game.

Westmeath were defeated by Galway in All-Ireland series round robin games in both 2023 and 2024.

Should Westmeath lose on Sunday, they will still have another chance to reach the last eight of the championship as they will meet one of the round 2B winners in the third round.

The strong level of interest in the county's championship journey continues, with a mass exodus of Westmeath supporters expected to make the short journey to Galway on Sunday.

Those who are unable to secure a match ticket can watch the game on the GAA's streaming service, GAA+.
