Enda Smith to miss Roscommon game with Monaghan

Enda Smith is a notable absentee from the Roscommon senior football team named to play Monaghan in Round 2B of the All-Ireland senior football championship in St Tiernach's Park Clones, on Saturday, at 4.30pm.

It is understood Smith picked up an injury in training and has not been named in the matchday panel.

St Brigid's defender Brian Stack returns to the starting team in place of Clann na nGael's Patrick Gavin as Roscommon aim to maintain a presence in this year's senior football championship.

Defeat to Monaghan this weekend will see the Connacht champions exit the championship before the quarter-final stage.

If Roscommon leave Clones with a win they will advance to Round 3 of the All-Ireland series to play one of the four losing counties from this weekend's Round 2A fixtures.

The game will be televised live by the GAA's streaming service, GAA+.
