Athlone teenager secures advanced darts tour card

Athlone teenager Mikey Conway has become one of only four players in Ireland to secure an Advanced Tour Card.

The 14-year-old will see travel to Hangar 61 in Bristol in early 2027, where he will compete in the next stages of elite youth darts competition against some of the sport's most promising talents.

Mikey has already made a name for himself on the Irish darts circuit. Earlier this year, he attracted national attention following an outstanding performance at the INDO All-Irelands at the Shearwater Hotel, where he landed the famous "Big Fish" – the highest possible checkout in darts.

The young Athlone player's success has also attracted sponsorship support from FlightClub.ie and Absol Renewable Energy, helping him pursue opportunities on the international stage.

August will see Mikey represent Ireland at the Nations Cup in Scotland, where the country's top eight players will compete against international opposition in a series of tournaments. He is also scheduled to compete in Bristol and Gibraltar later this year.

Mikey is now focused on securing a place on the Ireland team for Gibraltar. The dedicated young player will learn on Saturday, June 20, whether he has successfully qualified for the prestigious event after months of hard work and preparation.

Mikey is quickly establishing himself as one of Ireland's most exciting young darts prospects. Those wishing to follow Mikey's progress can do so through his online player profile, where updates on his competitions and achievements are regularly shared.
