Moate's Misneach

Moate's Misneach purr-sues Nose of Tralee votes

A rescue cat from Moate is hoping to win the hearts and votes of the public as he represents Westmeath in the Pet Sitters Ireland Nose of Tralee competition.

Misneach, a local rescue, is among the animals shortlisted from across the country in the search to find Ireland’s most charming pet ambassador.

The competition, run by Pet Sitters Ireland, invites the public to vote for their favourite animal, with the winner crowned Nose of Tralee and awarded a prize package including €500 cash, a pet-friendly hotel stay, professional photoshoot, pet sitting vouchers, and a range of gifts and accessories from Irish pet businesses.

Misneach’s story is one of resilience. In 2023, he survived a serious accident that left him with severe injuries to his back and legs.

Thanks to the dedicated care of Dr. Jennifer O’Donovan and staff at Moate Vet Clinic, he made a strong recovery and has since gone on to thrive.

He is one of seven rescue animals currently cared for by Moate's Shane and Cáit Lynam, and aims to represent Westmeath in the national competition.

Supporters are being encouraged to cast their votes online in support of Misneach. Voting ends at midnight on June 29.
