Reynolds steps down as St John's Athletic manager

RDFL Premier Division champions St John’s Athletic have paid tribute to former senior team manager Keith Reynolds as he departs the role following two seasons at the helm.

Athlone native Reynolds was appointed manager at the start of the 2024/25 RDFL season and played an integral role in securing the club’s first Premier Division title.

Together with joint manager Tony O’Sullivan, Reynolds retained the league crown this season, while also complementing these titles with success in cup competitions.

“Thank you for the vision, passion and unwavering commitment you brought to St John’s every single day. You didn’t just manage this team, you helped shape its history,” said St John’s Athletic.

“Thank you for the blood, sweat and tears you gave for the badge, and for the unforgettable memories you created along the way.

"The trophies will always hold a special place in our story, but the culture, belief and winning mentality you instilled in this team will be your true legacy.”

St John’s said that Reynolds leaves behind a “standard of excellence” that will “inspire players, coaches and supporters for years to come”.

“Fortunately for St John’s, Keith’s journey with the club is far from over. He will continue to play a major role in the development of our underage teams, helping to shape the next generation of players. You will always be one of our own. You will always be a legend,” the club added.

It is understood that Tony O'Sullivan will remain involved in a managerial capacity with the Lecarrow-based club.
