FAI announces venue for Israel game

The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) has announced that the home fixture against Israel will take place in Bačka Topola, Serbia, on Sunday, October 4.

This follows a decision taken by the FAI Board to move the UEFA Nations League fixture to a neutral territory due to what it said were operational challenges that could impact on the delivery of the game on home soil.

The change of venue has been approved by UEFA and the game will be played in the TSC Arena in Bačka Topola behind-closed-doors, with the kick-off time to be confirmed in due course.

This announcement completes the venue scheduling for Ireland’s upcoming UEFA Nations League campaign. It follows the confirmation that the first encounter with Israel will take place at the Nagyerdei Stadion in Debrecen, Hungary, on Sunday, September 27th.

As a result of the change of venue for the Israel fixture, the Association will update its 2026 FAI Season Ticket holders and Club Ireland members regarding compensation owed.

There has been concerted calls for the FAI not to play the fixtures against Israel, with a significant 'Stop the Game' campaign.
