Westmeath's Sarah Dillon gets her kick away despite an attempted block from Wexford's Niamh Cullen during The Lake County's TG4 intermediate football championship win at TEG Cusack Park Mullingar last Sunday.

Venue confirmed for neighbouring counties championship semi-final

The LGFA has confirmed Kingspan Breffni Park in Cavan as the venue for the intriguing TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate championship semi-final contest between Westmeath and Roscommon.

The game will take place at the Ulster venue on Sunday, July 12, at 4pm.

Frank Browne's Westmeath side advanced to the semi-final following the team's defeat of Wexford at TEG Cusack Park Mullingar in what was a repeat of last month's Leinster intermediate final.

Westmeath reached the semi-final stage of the TG4 All-Ireland intermediate championship in 2025 before losing out to Tyrone after extra-time.

Meanwhile, Roscommon avenged their heavy Connacht Final defeat to Leitrim when the same two counties met in their All-Ireland quarter-final on Sunday, the primrose and blue eking out a four point win in Carrick-on-Shannon.

Roscommon manager Finbar Egan, who hails from close to Athlone, is well known in Westmeath, as the Maryland and Athlone men's teams are among the sides he has managed in the past.

The other All-Ireland semi-final will be an all-Ulster affair as Fermanagh meet Down.

That semi-final will take place in St Tiernach's Park Clones on at the same date with throw-in also at 4pm.

Both games will be broadcast live on TG4.
