Athlone native receives award recognition from US Congressman

Athlone native Brian Lynam, has been recognised for his contribution to business life in the United States through his role as senior operations leader with Boston Scientific.

Lynam received a certificate of recognition from United States House of Representatives Congressman Richard McCormick for his service to the community in Johns Creek, Georgia, where he has been based with his family, wife Cora and children, Conor and Erin, since 2017.

Reflecting on the presentation, the former Marist College student said the recognition was "especially meaningful" as he had the opportunity to share the moment with family.

"Leadership journeys are never individual accomplishments, and I would not be where I am today without their unwavering support, encouragement, and sacrifices along the way. Being able to celebrate this occasion together as a family made the day even more memorable," Lynam said.

Commenting on the award, he said it was a "reflection of the incredible people I have the privilege to work alongside every day "at Boston Scientific in Johns Creek.

"The continued investment in our community, the creation of high-quality jobs through our continued expansion, our commitment to innovation, and our focus on advancing medical technologies that improve patient lives are all the result of a collective effort by an exceptional team," Lynam said.

Originally from Beechpark West, he said he remains "extremely proud" of the role "our Johns Creek site plays in supporting patients around the world while also contributing to the economic growth and vitality of our local community".

"The partnership and support we receive from local, state, and federal leaders, as well as our community stakeholders, have been instrumental in making this possible.

"Thank you to the many colleagues, partners, and community leaders who continue to help us make a meaningful impact.

"I am excited about what we can accomplish together in the years ahead," he concluded.
