The Community College team of team manager Srinidhi Karthik, enterprise manager Ella McGowan, manufacturing engineer Orin Smith, design engineer Tadhg Johnston and resource engineer Natalia Lison. The team was mentored by Eoghan Joyce.

The team qualified for the world finals of the event in Cork earlier this year, having finished third in the national final.

Costs associated with attending the world finals in Singapore in October are estimated to range between €40,000 and €50,000.

As a result, the team is reaching out to local businesses and has also launched a fundraiser on the GoFundMe website.

The Marist College team of 'Stellar Racing' is the second Athlone team to travel to Singapore, having won the national final.

The team is Paul Hardiman, Ruairí Collins, Andrés Leal and Hammad Mateen. The Marist team is also fundraising to meet the cost of going to the finals.
