Westmeath photographs make final in Love Your Coast competition

Two Westmeath photographs made the final of the Love Your Coast competition this week.

The awards ceremony took place on Thursday, July 16, at ceremony held in Smock Alley Theatre, Dublin.

Shot at Lough Ennell, Christine Taylor took joint third place in the 'Wildlife and the Coast' category with her photo of a Great Crested Grebe.

Pawel Zygmunt was a finalist with his photo 'Nature Dance' shot at Lough Ennel Co Westmeath.

Photographer Pawel Zygmunt was a finalist in the 'Source to Sea' category with his photo 'Nature Dance' also shot at Lough Ennell.

Now in its 17th consecutive year, the Love Your Coast Photography Competition showcased the Irish Coast. Amateur photographers from across the country submitted over 1,100 photographs in the hope of making the final shortlist.

This year’s Clean Coasts photography competition encouraged photographers to consider the 2026 theme of "Impact" when snapping their photos.
