Ballinasloe's Sharon performs heroically at strongwoman championships

There was success for the region at the Natural Strongwoman Four Nations Champions in Liverpool, England, as Ballinasloe's Sharon Williamson claimed a silver medal in the women's open category.

Sharon, who is the gym manager at Coral Leisure in Ballinasloe, finished behind gold medalist Megan Stephens and ahead of third-placed Bee Hanson (both England).

The event brought together the very best of strongmen and strongwomen competitors from across England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, with seven different categories competed for in the women's section and six taking place for male participants.
