Dean Crowe Theatre to host Connaught Street Poetry Session
A special afternoon of poetry with local writers will take place in Athlone on Saturday as part of Heritage Week.
The event, The Connaught Street Poetry Sessions, will be held in the Dean Crowe Theatre on August 15 at 4pm.
It features readings from Christa de Brún, Tadhg Carey, Des Egan, Linda Butler, Gearoid O’Brien and Jackie Gorman.
The event will also include music from Jack O’Meara and promises to be a wonderful celebration of heritage and creativity. These well-known and emerging writers all have strong links to the area, which continue to inform their writing.
The free event is organised by the Connaught Street and Environs Community Group.
