Roscommon LGFA confirm underage managerial appointments

Roscommon LGFA has confirmed that Trevor Clohessy will remain in his role as manager of the county's minor football team for the 2027 season.

Clohessy guided Roscommon to the All Ireland Minor 'A' final for the first time since 1991 in July. However, the county came up short when losing out to Cork on a 0-11 to 0-7 scoreline in Glenisk O'Connor Park Tullamore.

In his first year at the helm, he also helped Roscommon win the Connacht Minor 'A' title for the first time in 34 years.

In the aftermath of the recent All-Ireland final loss, Clohessy admitted that he almost quit the role following his appointment as his wife was contending with a "heart illness".

However, his wife encouraged him to stay in the job.

"Training served as a distraction to me and thankfully, she's got better now. She's had her operation and these girls have been incredible," Clohessy said post All-Ireland final defeat.

Meanwhile, Megan Gaughan will stay on for a second year as manager of the Roscommon LGFA U14 county team.

Roscommon LGFA confirmed that the backroom teams for both the minor and U14 teams would be confirmed in due course.
