Athlone's Sam a contestant on new series of The Traitors Ireland

Athlone's Sam Omokoro is among the 23 contestants taking part in the second series of The Traitors Ireland.

The IT consultant is a former footballer with Athlone GAA Club and also played with Westmeath in the Leinster minor football final in 2013.

The new series, set in Slane Castle, County Meath, began airing last night (Sunday). It follows the hugely successful first outing for The Traitors Ireland, which became one of RTÉ's biggest television hits of last year.

Hosted by Siobhán McSweeney, the players attempt to navigate a game built on trust, strategy and deception, forming alliances while trying to work out who among them they can believe.

The Traitors Ireland continues every Sunday, Monday and Tuesday on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player, followed by The Traitors Ireland Uncloaked.
