Moate Railway Station Group to celebrate new refurbishments with gathering this Sunday

Moate Railway Station Group are set to celebrate the latest refurbishments to the station with a gathering this Sunday.

Taking place at St Mary’s Hall Station Road on Sunday, September 6, at 2.30pm, the occasion will mark the launch of a new photographic display at Moate Railway Station and the refurbishment of the platform.

Recent works completed include a new white picket fence, installed by John Horan Carpentry and Building Services Moate, and provided by Gerry and Alan Doyle from Athlone P.V.C.

A new coat of limewash has given a fresh look to the wall, with a selection of old photos now displayed at the station.

The footbridge, which was removed in April of this year, is set to return this month.
