EuroDreams come true for Westmeath lotto winner

An online EuroDreams player from Westmeath has won €2,000 a month for the next five years.

The Westmeath winner scooped the prize in the EuroDreams draw of Thursday, July 30, but was unaware of the win until contacted by the National Lottery.

"When the Claims Team called me, I wasn't sure what to make of it, so I went and checked everything myself," the winner said, on a visit to the lottery headquarters to collect the prize.

After reviewing their National Lottery account and the draw results, the winner realised the news was genuine.

"I checked my account and checked the numbers and realised it was actually true. Getting a phone call to say you've won €2,000 every month isn't something that happens every day, so I was completely shocked."

The winner said the monthly payments will allow them to plan a few extra treats over the coming years, with a winter getaway already high on the agenda.

"I'd love to head away somewhere sunny during the winter months. Dubai is definitely top of the list."
