Man arrested over Healy-Rae assault

A man has been arrested and is being held at Kevin Street Garda Station in relation to an assault on TD Michael Healy-Rae in Dublin yesterday.

The man is said to have assaulted Healy-Rae through the window of his car in the Cork Street area of Dublin city centre.

The Kerry TD attended St Vincent’s University Hospital, being discharged last night with stitches for a head wound.

Earlier, Gardaí said they were seeking a man with a brown dog in connection with the assault.

Healy Rae took to X to make a statement on the assault.
