Athlone Musical Society to host 'The Wedding Singer' auditions

Auditions for Athlone Musical Society's 2027 production, 'The Wedding Singer' take place this week.

The Dean Crowe Theatre will host dance auditions on Thursday, September 24, at 7.15pm, while vocal/acting auditions will follow at the same venue on Saturday, September 26, at 5.30pm.

Based on the 1998 film of the same name, 'The Wedding Singer' will be performed on the Dean Crowe Theatre stage in February of next year.

The musical revolves around Robbie, who sings at weddings, his failed relationship with his former fiancée, and his romance with a new love, Julia.

The musical will be directed by Dominic Reid with Ger Madden returning to his role as Musical Director. Dylan O'Keeffe will make his debut with the Society as the show's choreographer.
