Athlone Swimming Club win Forest Aquasprint Final in Connacht for second year in a row
Swimmers from Athlone Swimming Club have won the Forest Aquasprint Final in Connacht for the second year in a row.
The 2026 Forest Feast AquaSprint Junior Swimming League Final took place in Castlebar on Saturday, September 26, bringing together clubs from across the region for a celebration of junior swimming.
The competition showcased the talent, determination and team spirit of young swimmers, with exciting racing throughout the afternoon as clubs battled for league honours.
Supported by coaches, volunteers, officials and families, the event once again highlighted the strength of junior swimming across the region.
The Athlone team was captained by Nicole Greene and Cillian Fox, who are both students of Moate Community School.
In a statement after the win, Athlone SC congratulated the swimmers on their "fantastic achievement".
"Your hard work, dedication, and team spirit have been outstanding, and this achievement is a testament to all your efforts.
"We would also like to thank all the parents and supporters for your continued encouragement and support throughout the season. We are so proud of you all."
