Players from Westmeath and Roscommon nominated for LGFA award

Players from both Westmeath and Roscommon have been nominated for the 2026 TG4 Intermediate Players’ Player of the Year award.

Westmeath's Anna Jones, who plays her club football with Mullingar Shamrocks, is one of three nominees for the individual accolade. She is joined in the award category by Roscommon footballer Saoirse Wynne who was named as 'Player of the Match' in her county's All-Ireland IFC final victory against Fermanagh in August.

Fermanagh footballer Eimear Smyth completes the award category nominations.

All three players were named recently on the 2026 TG4 Intermediate Team of the Championship.

Meanwhile, the nominees for the TG4 Senior Players’ Player of the Year Award are Aimee Mackin (Armagh), Olivia Divilly (Galway) and Síofra O’Shea (Kerry), while the trio of Maria O’Neill (Antrim), Róisín Bailey (Carlow) and Sara Doyle (Carlow) have been shortlisted for the TG4 Junior Players’ Player of the Year award.

The nominees in all three categories were selected by fellow inter-county players, who could not vote for their own team-mates.

The winners will be revealed at the 2026 TG4 All-Star Awards banquet at The Bonnington Dublin Hotel on Saturday, November 14.
