Westmeath goalkeeper confirms inter-county retirement

Westmeath goalkeeper Jason Daly has confirmed his retirement from senior inter-county football.

During his time with the Lake County, Daly was part of the teams that secured the Tailteann Cup in 2022, achieved league success in 2024 and the Leinster senior football championship title in 2026.

The custodian made his senior inter-county debut against Fermanagh in the Allianz Football League in 2020 and has been to the fore during a memorable period for Westmeath football.

A central figure of St Loman's senior football team, Daly is the holder of seven Flanagan Cup medals having served as the club's goalkeeper for over a decade.

Daly is a member of the Westmeath GAA games and coaching staff most recently working as a Participation Officer with both Tubberclair and Moate All Whites.

In a social media post, Westmeath GAA thanked Daly for his "dedication and commitment" to Westmeath throughout his inter-county career and wished him "every success and happiness" in the next chapter.
