Club Rossie’s 'Win a Home in Athlone' fundraiser returns
Club Rossie's "Win a Home in Athlone" fundraiser is back for a second draw, and the response already has been fantastic.
Imagine starting 2027 by collecting the keys to a stunning new home, with no mortgage or rent to pay. Or picture yourself winning €350,000 in cash to spend however you like. Tickets start at just €20, and all proceeds go towards the development of Gaelic games in Roscommon.
The first "Win a Home in Athlone" draw took place in January 2026, when the Donnellan family from Kiltoom won the top prize.
Speaking at the prize presentation, Brendan Donnellan said: “People always think, "Oh, I never win anything, it'll never happen to me," and I would have always thought that as well. (This shows) you do win things the odd time, so if you're not in, you can't win."
Once again, the main prize is an A-rated, energy-efficient home in the sought-after Woodberry Manor development by KDM Homes in Monksland. The three-bedroom property features: · A modern, bespoke kitchen, three bathrooms an A-rated air-to-water heat pump for efficient heating, underfloor heating, demand-controlled ventilation (DCV) for fresh air and efficiency and a landscaped garden
Prefer cash? The winner can take €350,000 instead of the house, whether for travel, investment or financial freedom.
"This is a really distinctive way to back our day-to-day activities," said Thomas Murray, Chairperson of Roscommon GAA. "What we raise will be vital to the ongoing growth and success of Gaelic games, allowing us to improve our facilities and support our underage coaching programmes. Every ticket sold is a direct investment in our community and in the future of Roscommon GAA."
Joe Gilligan, Chairperson of Club Rossie, the commercial and fundraising arm of Roscommon GAA, added: "For just €20 a ticket, you could be in with a chance of real financial freedom, whether that's the keys to a new home or a life-changing €350,000 in cash. Thank you for helping us build a stronger, brighter future for Roscommon GAA."
The winner will be announced at a live draw, independently observed by RBK, on Saturday, January 9 2027, at the Hodson Bay Hotel in Athlone.
No rent. No mortgage. No limits. Whether you choose the house or the cash, this is your chance to change everything.
