Five games up for decision in crucial weekend
There are five matches involving local outfits in the Westmeath IFC this weekend. In Division One, both Caulry and Moate All Whites probably require wins from games against Kilbeggan Shamrocks and Maryland to stay in touch in the race for qualification. Caulry are tied on two points from three games along with Kilbeggan Shamrocks and Moate All Whites. Caulry"s clash with Kilbeggan Shamrocks takes place on Friday evening in Moate (throw-in: 7pm), while Moate All Whites and Maryland meet on Saturday at Pairc Chiarain (throw-in: 5.45pm). In Division Two, Tubberclair will secure qualification to the semi-finals with victory over second placed Shandonagh on Sunday (Tang, throw-in: 5.45pm). Tubberclair have already won all three group games to date and currently lead the way by two points from second placed Shandonagh, who defeated Rosemount by a single point in their last outing. After two defeats and a draw from their opening three fixtures, Rosemount"s hopes of qualifying from the group look unlikely and nothing less than victory over bottom placed Ballynacargy at Lakepoint Park on Saturday (throw-in: 5.45pm) will be good enough to keep Rosemount in touch. Tang and Milltownpass also go head to head at Lakepoint Park on Saturday (throw-in: 7pm), with both sides desperate for a positive outcome. Tang have amassed three points from as many games while Milltownpass sit just behind Tang in the table with two points. Tang"s last outing was a convincing 3-12 to 2-11 win over Ballynacargy while Milltownpass tasted defeat against Tubberclair last time out.
