Opportunity to improve people’s health and happiness

Throughout the pandemic Slimming World has continued to provide virtual weight loss services and support to slimmers in their groups. Now, as restrictions begin to ease, the UK and Ireland’s best loved weight loss organisation is looking for successful Slimming World members to help rebuild their real life groups - members with a passion for helping others.

Slimming World is inviting people who’ve successfully lost weight at a local group to share their weight loss success and build a fabulous career at the same time.

Pauline Bliss, who manages a team of local consultants who run fantastic Slimming World groups in Westmeath and Roscommon says: “For more than 50 years, Slimming World has been helping people to change their mindset and form new habits around eating and becoming more active and learn to stay slim for life. The real key to success is found in the weekly group where trained Consultants motivate and inspire members to achieve their weight loss dreams.

“For anyone who has ever struggled with their weight, finding understanding care and support to help you stay committed and reach your target is invaluable. Plus, members learn about Slimming World’s incredible Food Optimising eating plan – no hunger, no deprivation, no counting. And as we come out of lockdown, many of us are looking for friendly support not just to lose weight but to reconnect with our community.

“Our research has shown that people have found it harder than ever to manage their weight during lockdown, due to extra stress and anxiety and routines that have been thrown up in the air, so we’re delighted that we’ve still been able to continue helping people in to continue losing weight.

“As we look forward to the easing of restrictions and given the links between COVID-19 and obesity, I know lots of people are worrying about their weight more than ever before, so there’s never been a better time to help motivate people in your community and support them to take the first step of their journey, and we’re looking for Consultants in the area.”

Pauline says the role of a Slimming World Consultant is flexible and rewarding, with the potential to earn a great money for working 10-20 flexible hours as a self-employed franchisee. The role is part-time and can be done alongside other commitments.

Slimming World consultants are all former members. New consultants are provided with in-depth training, with the opportunity to be awarded diplomas in nutrition and the psychology of weight management. First-class support from hundreds of staff at Slimming World’s head office is also provided, including administrative support, centralised marketing and PR, stock services, up-to-the-minute website support plus nutrition and research expertise.

Becoming a consultant also means becoming part of a well-respected and recognised brand with more than 50 years of experience behind it. She adds: “At Slimming World, we have the best eating plan in the world where members can, and do, lose weight without ever having to go hungry and a great activity programme that helps people to find a way to move more within their daily lives.

What sets Slimming World apart though is that as well as the physiology of weight loss, we understand the psychology of slimming and help people to grow in confidence and self-esteem so they are empowered to change the habits of a lifetime. There is nothing more rewarding than that, so being able to run a successful group and have that level of satisfaction is a magic combination!”

There are also vacancies for experienced managers to help co-ordinate the work in the area across the UK and Ireland.
