Athlone Town have added two new players to their squad in the run-up to the close of the transfer window.
The experienced David Breen signed on Saturday, having left Wexford Youths early last month.
Breen, 31, has twice won the League of Ireland first division championship, with both Kilkenny City and Waterford Utd.
Breen has racked up more than 400 League of Ireland appearances over the last 13 years, with Kilkenny City, Waterford Utd, Cobh Ramblers and Wexford Youths.
The addition of centre-half Breen ensures stiff competition for the two key defensive posts, with Des Hope, Brian McCarthy and Paddy Collins all competing for the first-team spots.
Meanwhile, 21-year-old striker Andy Haran has also joined Brendan Place's squad.
Haran signs from St Patrick's Athletic, with whom he had progressed through their youth ranks, before making his debut for the first time in April 2008.
After that he spent the second half of the 2008 season on loan to Monaghan Utd, where he scored seven goals in 14 league and cup appearances.
Having returned to Pat's, he failed to nail down a first-team berth and was loaned out to Shelbourne, but has failed to make an impact there.
The two most recent signings come on top of a raft of ins and outs at the club in recent months.
