For an evening of guilt-free pleasure, be sure to pick up your tickets for the Burgess Fashion Showcase at the Sheraton Hotel next Tuesday night, where you can indulge yourself with some champers while taking in the latest fashion offerings for autumn/winter and also supporting the South Westmeath Hospice. The Burgess Fashion Showcase kicks off at the Sheraton Athlone next Tuesday evening, October 7, at 7.30pm with a champagne reception and the choreographed fashion show itself will be starting at 8pm. Be warned, there will be some surprises built in. The show promises to showcase the best of local fashion, with the Burgess autumn/winter collection, The Fashion Showcase aims to raise much needed funds for the South Westmeath Hospice. Joining forces with Burgess to raise as much money as possible are local businesses including Elliott Opticians, Sheffield Jewellers, Robin & Rosie children"s footwear, The Shoe Gallery, McGorisk Health and Beauty and Koztello Hair Studio. There will be something for all ages and all genders with the kiddies fashion getting the show off to a great start and of course with everything from winter woollies to some fabulous underwear for both men and women being modelled, there is sure to be something that appeals to all tastes. Former Miss Ireland and top stylist Andrea Roche will be on hand on the night to meet and greet people and will also be keeping an eye on what Athlone"s fashionistas are wearing as she will be judging the Best Dressed Lady competition, where the lucky winner will walk away with lots of loot including a €500 shopping Voucher. Rosie Boles of Burgess Department Store explained that the fashion show would offer something a little different to regular catwalk shows, in that it will be choregraphed by a leading dance agency. She said the event had receieved a great response from local people and businesses, with many locals coming on board to support the event. Hair and Make Up will be in the capable hands of Koztello Hair Studio and Philip Mc Gorisk Health and Beauty, in conjunction with Clinique and Rosie also mentioned that many businesses have donated some fantastic prizes for a free draw on the night. And while it"s still some way off, many of you will be wondering what to buy your loved ones for Christmas, so the Burgess Fashion Showcase is a great place to get some inspiration with the best of local fashion, jewellery and accessories being showcased on the night. Tickets are €40 each, with proceeds going to the South Westmeath Hospice, and are available from Burgess Department Store, Elliott Opticians and the Westmeath Independent. All proceeds from the evening go to the South Westmeath Hospice.
