Athlone's €6.4m jackpot winner makes contact with National Lottery

The holder of the €6.4 million Lotto ticket sold in Athlone in May has finally made contact with the National Lottery, it's been confirmed this afternoon.

The lucky winner was in touch with Lotto HQ about claiming the life-changing prize more than a month on from the draw on May 22.

The Quick Pick ticket had been sold at Applegreen in the Arcadia Retail Park.

A Lotto spokesperson said arrangements were now being made for collection of the seven-figure winnings.

"We are delighted to confirm that the Lotto winner who scooped the €6.4 million jackpot on Saturday, May 22, has made contact with our prize claims team. We are now in the process of making arrangements for the jackpot prize to be paid," said the spokesperson.

Lotto winners have 90 days, from the date of the draw, in which to claim their prize.
