Cliona's big day gúna will be designed in the Midlands!

Country music star Cliona Hagan has opted to go with the best of Midlands fashion design talent for her big day.

Offaly fashion designer Geraldine O'Meara, whose studio is in Crinkle, Birr, announced on her Facebook page on Thursday evening last that the popular Tyrone singer had said 'yes to the dress' after her first consultation.

“Excited to say she said “YES TO THE DRESS,” the post exclaimed.

“Looking forward to designing and making Cliona’s wedding dress for her upcoming wedding. A beautiful bride to be!!,” it added.

Fashionistas around the Midlands will be familiar with Geraldine's beautiful creations, having been worn by many top personalities including TV presenter Lucy Kennedy, Lorraine Keane, and former Rose of Tralee Jennifer Byrne in the past. She is also hugely popular for commissions for bespoke outfits for weddings, grads and occasionwear.

Cliona Hagan, who many will also know from her stint on TV's 'Dancing with the Stars', is set to marry well-known Tang musician Simon Sheerin, who melted hearts with a fairytale wedding proposal along the shores of Lough Ree before Christmas last year.

The popular drummer rolled out the red carpet, lit the candles and assembled a flower-filled arch before he went down on one knee to ask for Cliona’s hand in marriage, all against the backdrop of her favourite song, Shania Twain’s ‘You’re Still The One’.

As well as creating the perfect proposal setting, Simon left nothing to chance when it came to picking a perfect ring for his fiancée. He selected a hexagonal platinum ring studded with diamonds, having asked Cliona to point out her favourite rings in a jeweller’s window several months beforehand.

The popular musical couple started dating two years ago, having known each other through the music business for many years.
