Fine Gael leader and Tanáiste, Leo Varadkar, who is due to take over the reins as Taoiseach on December 17 next, will give a televised address to the annual Fine Gael Ard Fheis, which takes place on the TUS Campus in Athlone this Saturday.

Fine Gael Ard Fheis comes to Athlone this Saturday

Just a week before the Green Party bring their own Annual Conference to Athlone, Fine Gael has also chosen the Midlands as the destination for their first in-person Ard Fheis after two years of Covid restrictions.

The one day Fine Gael party get-together is due to take place on the TUS Athlone Campus this Saturday, November 19, with Leader and Tanáiste, Leo Varadkar's address being televised live on RTE 1 television from 6.30p to 8pm on Saturday evening.

Leo Varadkar is due to take over the reins as Taoiseach from the current incumbent, Michéal Martin, on December 17 next.

The organisers of the 81st Ard Fheis are expecting a huge turnout of the Party faithful and senior members of the Party, Ministers and members of the parliamentary party will also be in attendance.

Meanwhile, the Green Party's Annual Convention takes place in The Radisson Blu Hotel in Athlone on Saturday of next week, November 26.
