'Business as normal' at Bloomfield after fire this morning

Bloomfield House Hotel, Leisure Club and Spa was evacuated this morning, December 20, after smoke was detected in an upper floor.

Following activation of the fire detection system and the swift action of the staff, the hotel fire-evacuation procedure was put in place and the Fire Service arrived promptly.

A fire was extinguished and following a detailed examination of the full premises, the building was deemed safe once again.

Management at the hotel extended a “special thank you to the crew at Westmeath Fire and Rescue for your rapid response”, and confirmed that “it is now business as normal at Bloomfield”.
