A colourful entry from the 2019 St Patrick’s Day Parade in Moate.

Moate St Patrick's Day parade to return after four-year absence

The Moate St Patrick’s Day parade committee said it was delighted to announce the return of the parade to the town on Friday, March 17, at 2.30pm.

Residents of Moate and surrounding areas are eagerly awaiting the return of the parade which has been notably absent since 2019.

The newly-formed committee have been working away in the background, since June 2022, to organise an entertaining parade.

The parade is being very well supported by the many businesses in the town, without whom it could not take place.

The Mullingar Town Band – Celtic Crusaders will lead the parade from its starting point at The Gap House/Vincent Coughlan’s to its finishing point at the Carmelite Nursing Home.

With a number of floats entered ranging from various dancers, vikings and fairies to vintage tractors, GAA teams and an inflatable giant man, the parade is sure to entertain.

Anyone who wishes to enter a float should contact 085 287 9298.
