Public support sought for upcoming Athlone Daffodil Day

The daffodils are sprouting up all around town which should be a reminder that Daffodil Day is coming up on March 24. Over the last 35 years the people of Athlone have given generously to the annual collection which takes place in various centres around the town.

Volunteers can email daffodildayathlone@gmail.com or contact 0876666687 to register their interest in helping out, and as always we have to thank all the commercial centres that support Irish Cancer Society each March.

Starting off the month long preparation, Deputy Robert Troy invited members of the local committee on a tour of Leinster House on Wednesday March 1, and his annual coffee morning in aid of Irish Cancer Society is always appreciated.

If you would like to organise a coffee morning within your company, please feel free to contact the local committee who can put you in touch with regional coordinators, all support is welcome where people can give generously with an hour or two of their time or by buying a daffodil or Daffodil Day merchandise in any of the many centres around the country.
