Marty Morrissey among guests set for ex-broadcaster's Athlone book launch tonight

Former RTÉ Midlands correspondent Ciaran Mullooly will hold an Athlone launch of his new book The Future Is Now at The Bounty Bar, Buccaneers RFC, this evening (Tuesday, November 28) at 7.30pm.

The captain of the FAI Cup-winning Athlone Town team, Laurie Ryan, and Westmeath footballer Ray Connellan will also be special guests at this evening's launch.

Ciaran Mullooly retired from his role as 'the face of the Midlands' on RTÉ in the summer of 2021.

The Future Is Now includes his thoughts on the current crisis at RTÉ and also covers Ciaran's involvement in community development, as well as the Midlands' changing industrial landscape with Bord na Móna and the ESB moving away from peat-fired power generation.

Some of the proceeds from the book will go towards the running costs of the Pieta House Midlands centre at Sean Costello Street in Athlone.

All are welcome to attend the launch this evening.
