Seamus McNamee, RIP.

Obituary: the late Seamus McNamee

The death occurred on Monday January 29 of Séamus McNamee Jnr, of Bellview Heights, Mullingar. Mr McNamee died suddenly, but peacefully, at his home.

A chef by profession, Mr McNamee had also worked as a porter at Mullingar Hospital. Mr McNamee is survived by his heartbroken family – partner, Steffi Arand, parents Séamus and Mary; his siblings, Ciarán and Niamh; his sister-in-law Claire Solon; his nieces Aoibhe and Cadhla and his nephew Cillian as well as by his aunts, uncles, extended family and friends.

A gentle, kind person, Mr McNamee had a keen interest in current affairs; he was an avid Manchester United fan and a golfer of some ability. He was also fond of music.

Another interest was travel: he lived for a time in Australia, and greatly enjoyed visiting other countries, Tunisia most recently.

Mr McNamee’s remains reposed at Rooney’s funeral home in Ballymore on Friday evening, prior to removal to the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer, where they were greeted by Fr Oliver Devine. Fr Devine also celebrated the funeral Mass, which took place in Ballymore on Saturday followed by cremation in Cavan.
