Rosemount’s Rachel Duffy was chosen as the Westmeath Rose in 2022 and went on to win the overall Rose of Tralee accolade later that year.

Search is on for the 2026 Westmeath Rose of Tralee

The Westmeath Rose Centre is calling on young women from the county to become part of the Rose of Tralee experience.

Westmeath Rose Centre coordinator Lyn Moloney said the search is now underway to choose this year's county representative for the International Rose of Tralee Festival which take places place in August.

"We at the Westmeath Rose Centre are inviting all interested girls between 18 and 29 years old to enter to sample the fantastic experience and journey that awaits you should you decide to go forward for the Westmeath Rose 2026," Lyn said.

"We would also like to invite GAA, camogie clubs, societies, groups and businesses to nominate a representative from their respective communities to take part in one of Westmeath’s annual flagship events."

The Westmeath Rose selection night will take place in the Radisson Hotel, Athlone, on Saturday, June 13.

The 2025 Rose of Tralee, Katelyn Cummins, recently teamed up with some Westmeath hopefuls to launch the search for her successor, encouraging anyone who might be interested to "go for it".

"The Rose of Tralee international Festival has truly been the most incredible experience of my life, and I hope to encourage as many young women as possible to take part and become their local 'Rose'," Katelyn stated.

"I guarantee them they will make incredible friends and have an amazing experience. I’m thoroughly enjoying my year as the Rose of Tralee so far and am really excited for what’s to come."
