International trophy success for Taughmaconnell golfer

Taughmaconnell's Isaac Oliver continues to enhance his golfing prowess following his Fairhaven Trophy success at the weekend.

The Glasson Golf Club member claimed the prestigious international junior golf competition on Sunday last with a two stroke win over Finland’s Migel Mutikainen.

During the competition, Oliver carded a six under par round of 66, which was just one shot shy of the course record.

Oliver, who is a fifth year student at Coláiste Chiarain Athlone, has committed to joining the Michigan State University golf programme in autumn 2027 where he will to compete on the American collegiate circuit.
