Athlone pharma company named Emerging BioPharmaChem Company of the Year

Monksland based company Dunbar Pharma has been named as the Emerging BioPharmaChem Company of the Year at the BioPharmaChem Impact Awards 2026.

The BioPharmaChem Impact Awards aim to recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements and potential within the BioPharmaChem sector in Ireland.

Dunbar Pharma develops and manufactures plant-derived Cannabinoid Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) for use in medicines.

Founded just a few years ago, the company has quickly grown into a high-tech employer in the Midlands, with a GMP[1]certified manufacturing facility and a growing export footprint.

Speaking about the win, founder and CEO of Dunbar Pharma, Leah Fletcher said: “What sits behind this award is a team with unwavering resilience, relentless pace, meticulous attention to detail and commitment to excellence.

“Building Ireland’s first licensed cannabinoid site and launching into international markets has taken an enormous effort from people on the ground every single day. This recognition belongs to them.
