Galway vs Westmeath clash is sold out
Westmeath's clash with Galway in the All-Ireland SFC this Sunday is officially sold out.
The capacity of Pearse Stadium is just over 26,000 and more Westmeath supporters will be able to attend the eagerly awaited encounter than the opening round match against Cavan at TEG Cusack Park.
"It will be a full house in Salthill as our senior footballers look to keep the momentum going in the All-Ireland SFC," Westmeath GAA posted online.
The interest in Sunday's game has led Irish Rail to organising an additional return train service between Athlone and Galway on Sunday - see here for more details.
For anyone who doesn't have a ticket, Sunday's round 2A match between Leinster champions Westmeath and Connacht finalists Galway will be shown on the GAA's streaming service, GAA+ (throw-in 2pm).
The winners of the game will advance to the All-Ireland SFC quarter-finals, while the losers will have another chance against one of the round 2B winners. Roscommon's meeting away to Monaghan is one of the fixtures in round 2B, where the losers will be eliminated from the championship.
