Roscommon team named for LGFA intermediate quarter-final tie

Roscommon LGFA footballer manager, Finbar Egan, has named his team for the TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate Championship quarter-final against Leitrim on Sunday, at 2pm.

The knockout game takes place in Heartland Credit Union Páirc Seán MacDiarmada, Carrick On Shannon, and is a repeat of May's Connacht intermediate final, in which Leitrim defeated Roscommon on a 4-18 to 0-8 scoreline.

Roscommon, who started the group stage of the All-Ireland series with a loss to Cavan, advanced to the quarter-final of the competition courtesy of a four point win over Down.

Leitrim, meanwhile, have been very impressive in the intermediate championship to date.

Since their Connacht final win, they have defeated Wicklow by 2-16 to 1-5 and overcome the challenge of Fermanagh by 4-12 to 1-13.

Should Roscommon advance to the semi-final stage of the All-Ireland series, a potential local derby meeting with Westmeath awaits.

Westmeath face off against Wexford in their LGFA intermediate championship quarter-final in TEG Cusack Park Mullingar on Sunday.

The other quarter-finals are Westmeath v Wexford, Clare v Fermanagh and Down v Monaghan (first named team at home in all cases).
