Castledaly athlete advances to steeplechase final
Castledaly's Ally Duffy will compete for a medal in the final of the Girls' 2000m steeplechase at the European Athletics U18 Championships on Sunday morning.
Duffy showed prominently in her heat on Thursday morning on the Rieti track, finishing third in a time of 6:52.32, some seven seconds off her personal best time.
The Moate Community School student, who has represented Ireland twice already in cross country events, will be hoping to add to her provincial and national medal haul when she lines on the starting line for Saturday morning's final at 8.45am.
