Rosemount GAA offering free heart screening to young members

Rosemount GAA is offering free heart screening to young members of the community on Friday, August 7.

The club has partnered with the Dillon Quirke Foundation to raise awareness of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) and provide heart screening for players aged 12-18.

Rosemount National School will host the heart screenings which will be conducted by an Advanced Medical Services team.

The service is free but donations to the Dillon Quirke Foundation will be accepted.

The Dillon Quirke Foundation was established in honour of the former Tipperary senior hurler who collapsed during a club hurling match and died of SADS in August 2022.

On average, Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) takes 100 young lives in Ireland every year.
