New riverside benches installed at Athlone's Wolfe Tone Terrace

A pair of brand new riverside benches have been installed at Athlone's Wolfe Tone Terrace.

The two new benches sit outside the flood defences at Wolfe Tone Terrace in an area of newly sown grass.

The benches were installed in addition to six new benches along The Strand, which were reinstated in July of this year.

The Strand's popular public benches were absent for a few years while work was being carried out in the area on the recently-completed €114m Athlone Main Drainage Scheme.
