Moate CS trip to coincide with Pope's visit to Lourdes

Moate Community School will host a table quiz later this week to help raise funds for its student volunteers travelling to Lourdes in September.

The students will form part of the Carmelite pilgrimage to the historic Catholic site in France, where they will assist and accompany pilgrims in need for help.

On its social media page, Moate CS said the trip will be 'particularly busy' for its students, as the visit coincides with Pope Leo XIV's visit to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes on Sunday, September 27. This will mark the first papal visit to the shrine in nearly two decades as part of an apostolic journey to France from September 25 to 28.

Moate CS said that all support for the quiz night, to be held at Egan's pub, Mount Temple on Thursday, August 20 at 9pm, would be greatly appreciated. The price of a table at the quiz will be €40.
