Beehan steps down as Westmeath minor hurling boss

Ger Beehan has stepped down from his role as Westmeath minor hurling manager.

In a statement issued this afternoon, Westmeath GAA County Board confirmed that Beehan and his management team were "stepping down from their roles", thanking them for their "unwavering dedication" and "selflessness".

The Cullion native departs the manager's position after just one year at the helm. His management team of Fintan Clarke, Martin Geary, Greg Gavin, Pat O’ Brien, Seamus Ennis and John Bawle, have also left their respective roles.

Westmeath GAA County Board said the in season victories over Kerry, Offaly, Dublin and Laois and a "creditable performance" against Kilkenny "showcased the preparations by management".

"The team spirit generated among a fine group of players will benefit them in future from the guidance provided throughout the campaign," the statement concluded.
