Tickets go on sale for Athlone Town women's fifth straight Cup final

Tickets have gone on sale today (Tuesday) for the Club Orange Women's FAI Cup final after Athlone Town secured a fifth straight appearance in the decider last Saturday evening.

Lily Agg's side were pushed all the way to penalties by Galway Utd in last weekend's semi-finals (see this week's Westmeath Independent for match report), with goalkeeper Maria Matthaoiu making the decisive save to deny Niamh Farrelly, and send the Town through to another final.

Tickets for the decider – against Shelbourne at Tallaght Stadium on Sunday, September 27 (3.30pm) – went on sale at 12noon today, and are available from Ticketmaster or through Athlone Town FC's social media channels.

It will be the fourth time in five years for Athlone to play Shelbourne in the cup final – Athlone having won (on penalties) in the 2023 decider and Shels' proving successful on the other two occasions.
