Rotary Club President praises work of South Westmeath Hospice
The Rotary Club of Athlone President, Tony Gannon, has paid tribute to the "invaluable care and support" provided by the South Westmeath Hospice to "patients and families throughout Athlone and the surrounding region".
The president's words come in advance of the annual Rotary Club of Athlone charity gala concert, featuring the Combined Bands of the Defence Forces, with funds raised from the event going towards the South Westmeath Hospice.
The concert, to be staged at Radisson Blu Hotel, Athlone on Thursday, November 5, will also include special guests artists Keith Dwyer-Greene and Emmett Donlon.
The Rotary president said the "special evening of music" is "in support of the compassionate local care" provided by South Westmeath Hospice.
"Its dedication to dignity, comfort and compassionate care, supported by the generosity of the local community, makes it an organisation of which we can all be proud.
"The care and compassion it brings to local families is truly remarkable, and we are proud to play our part in supporting such a worthy cause. We hope the people of Athlone and surrounding areas will come out in force to enjoy a wonderful evening of music while supporting this invaluable local organisation," the local Rotary Club president said.
The president stated that the gala concert promises to be a "magnificent evening of musical entertainment, showcasing the exceptional talent and professionalism of Ireland’s military musicians".
"Audiences can look forward to stirring music, memorable melodies and the spectacular sound of the combined bands performing together.
"So come along, bring your family and friends, enjoy a memorable evening of entertainment and help support South Westmeath Hospice," the president added.
