'More appropriate solution' needed at Ballymore junction as bollards struck
A 'more appropriate solution' is needed at the Moate Road Junction in Ballymore as the bollards installed have been repeatedly struck.
Cllr Tom Farrell raised a question at the most recent meeting of the Athlone Moate Municipal District as to when the bollards, located outside Cunningham's Pub, would be replaced.
"Bollards have been struck and replaced on a few occasions since scheme installation," the written response by the council executive read.
"Whilst it is planned to replace the bollards in the coming weeks, a more appropriate solution, including the omission of the bollards, may need to be considered if they are damaged again."
