Jewellery chain Lovisa is to open a new store in Athlone Towncentre.

Work underway as new store to open in Athlone Towncentre

Preparations are underway for the arrival of a new jewellery store in Athlone Towncentre.

Lovisa, a retail chain which originated in Australia, is set to move into the ground floor unit at the shopping centre which was previously occupied by Golden Discs.

Last September, Golden Discs moved into a larger unit on the first floor of Athlone Towncentre, and its previous premises has been vacant since then.

Last week hoarding was erected around the retail unit and since then work has been taking place on site ahead of the new tenant's arrival.

A notice outside the store states that Lovisa will be opening "soon" and that staff are currently being recruited.

Lovisa currently has four branches in the Dublin area, along with other Irish outlets in Galway, Limerick and Newbridge.

A description of the jewellery chain on its website states that Lovisa "was created out of a need for on-trend fashion jewellery at ready-to-wear prices," adding, "we are a fashion-forward jewellery brand that caters to everyone, with 150 new styles being delivered to stores each week."
